Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 9, 2026

Overview

InkCare ("we," "our," or "the App") is a tattoo aftercare tracking application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how your information is handled when you use InkCare.

Data Storage

Your data stays on your device and in your iCloud account. InkCare stores all information — including your tattoo details, care logs, symptom records, and settings — locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you are signed in to iCloud, your tattoo data (not photos) is synced across your devices using Apple's CloudKit. This sync is handled entirely by Apple's infrastructure and is protected by your iCloud account security. We do not operate any servers, cloud databases, or external storage systems.

Photos are stored locally on each device and are not synced via iCloud. This keeps your iCloud storage usage minimal and your sensitive images under your direct control.

What We Collect

We do not collect any personal data. InkCare does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or share any personal information. The app functions entirely offline.

  • No user accounts or registration
  • No analytics or tracking
  • No advertising or ad identifiers
  • No third-party SDKs that collect data
  • No data transmitted to external servers

Photos

Photos you take or select within InkCare are stored locally on your device in the app's private container. Photos are not uploaded to any server, synced to iCloud, or shared with any third party. You may delete photos at any time through the app.

Notifications

InkCare uses local notifications (not push notifications) to remind you of care tasks. These notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device by iOS. No notification data is sent to or processed by any external server.

In-App Purchases

InkCare offers optional Pro subscriptions and a lifetime purchase through Apple's App Store. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID.

Third-Party Services

InkCare does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. The only external integration is Apple's StoreKit for in-app purchases, which is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

Health Disclaimer

InkCare is an aftercare tracking and reminder tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you have concerns about your tattoo's healing, consult a healthcare professional or your tattoo artist.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all InkCare data at any time by deleting the app from your iPhone. Individual tattoo records, photos, and logs can also be deleted within the app.

Children's Privacy

InkCare is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA)

Because InkCare does not collect, store, or process personal data on any server, most data protection regulations (including the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the California Consumer Privacy Act) do not apply in a traditional sense. However, we respect your rights:

  • Right to access: All your data is on your device — you can view it anytime in the app.
  • Right to deletion: Delete individual records in the app, or delete the app to remove all data.
  • Right to portability: Export your data using the Pro share feature.
  • No data selling: We do not sell, share, or disclose your personal information to any third party.

If you use iCloud sync, your data is also subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
